President's Words
"Dayon Kamo!" – Welcome / Come on in! In my native "Hiligaynon" tongue (a Philippine dialect in the Western Visayan Islands ) – this connotes not just welcome greetings but an invitation to come in and stay for a while. An invitation I am extending to all Baptist young people: come on in and linger a while with us, get to know your brothers and sisters not only in the Asia Pacific region but from all over the world.
I encourage you to get to know us and discover the many things we share in common. No matter what language you speak, what color your skin, or food you eat – we are all a part of God's great, big family. Let us share our experiences with one another in this conference, so that we can go back home enriched and inspired by the trials and triumphs of our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Should there be any circumstances that may not hinder you from joining us in Hong Kong, kindly pray with us and for us – that we may continue to seek the Lord’s will and serve Him effectively wherever we may be. Let us "hope in Him and wait on Him" as we find strength in the words of Isa. 40:30-31. May we indeed soar to greater heights of love and service for our Savior and Lord – Jesus Christ. To Him be glory forever and ever, AMEN!
